Slight depreciation of the dollar against the rupee
The US dollar weakened sharply on Friday after four consecutive days of gains in the local currency market.

In the interbank market, the dollar fell by 27 paise to Rs 186.70, while in the open currency market, the dollar fell by 30 paise to Rs 187.20.
According to economists, the 3.60 million rupees increase in foreign exchange reserves over the past week eased the pressure on the Pakistani rupee on Friday.
It is to be noted that at the beginning of the current business week, the US dollar had started appreciating against the Pakistani rupee from Monday which continued for 4 consecutive days till Thursday. Instead of rising further, the dollar depreciated.
