The Taliban cabinet said in a statement that the video app was misleading Afghan youth, prompting the Ministry of Telecommunications to order its closure.

Earlier, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, during his visit to the country, had tried to ban PubG game but he did not succeed.

According to the report, there are 4 million social media users in Afghanistan, of which Facebook is the most popular. In a country of 38 million, only 9 million people have access to the Internet.

In December 2021, PubG topped the list of the highest-earning games in the world, according to a report published in the technology firm Sensor Tower, which analyzes technology users.

It should be noted that video sharing app Tik Tok has been banned in many countries including Pakistan.

The Taliban have restricted video sharing application TikTok in Afghanistan, demanding they were driving Afghanistan's childhood adrift. Well known portable game Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) has likewise been restricted.

Since getting back to drive in August last year, the Taliban have previously restricted music, motion pictures and TV cleansers. The telephone applications are famous among Afghans who have been left with little choices for entertainment.

In a proclamation on Thursday, the bureau asserted the applications "drove the youthful age off track," adding that the telecom service has been arranged to close them down, news organization ANI detailed.
